An agitated spring, an idyllic summer
Domaine des Souchons, our vineyard of 13 hectares in the heart of the Beaujolais, experienced difficult climatic conditions in the spring of 2016, which delayed the vegetative cycle.
Fortunately, the more clement summer that followed, with ideal temperatures and magnificent sunshine, allowed our grapes to attain full maturity in time for harvesting.
First impressions of the 2016 vintage
First tastings reveal superb balance between sugar and acidity, with excellent potential degrees of between 12° and 13°, depending on the parcels. This is truly a typically Beaujolais vintage, with freshness, finesse, fruit and gourmandise. In short, this vintage has some wonderful surprises in store for us, but we will have to wait for a few more months for it to be bottled, to really discover it in the glass.
